If you love the outdoors and are looking for an adventurous outing, Reynolda Gardens is the perfect place to visit! Located in the heart of the historic Reynolda Estate in Winston-Salem, Reynolda Gardens welcomes visitors from all walks of life. The Gardens are often referred to as the “Central Park of Winston-Salem,”with its immaculate landscape and outdoor amenities. Many community members especially enjoy taking long strolls along the trails, immersing themselves in the glorious nature of the 134-acre property. The four-acre formal gardens are a favorite spot, which interconnect the vegetable and ornamental gardens. Visitors often love to explore the Blue and Yellow Garden with its wisterias and pincushion flowers, and the Pink and White Garden with its foxgloves and bleeding hearts. These colorful gardens are encompassed by bright cherry blossoms, which add to the environment’s ambiance.

Depending on the time of year, visitors are able to see different flowers come in bloom each season. Anybody planning to visit Reynolda Gardens in the spring will be mesmerized by its apple-red roses, which bloom every May. Just outside the gardens, Reynolda Village has multiple restaurants, retail shops, a salon, and a day spa. Adjacent to the formal gardens is Reynolda House Museum of American Art. Touring the museum provides visitors with an in-depth overview of the history of the estate. Reynolda House was originally built in 1917 as the home of Katharine and R.J. Reynolds, who established the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. Currently, the museum contains original décor and furnishings, along with one of the finest permanent collections of American art- with works dating as far back as the 18th century to a few contemporary pieces from artists of today.

Whether you’re looking to ask a gardener for advice on what to plant this spring, catch up with a friend over coffee, or explore historic halls lined with American art, Reynolda provides a unique and inclusive backdrop for the greater Triad community (and beyond) to enjoy.
