“Cam’s Coffee: A Beacon of Inclusion Brewing Opportunities for All”

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the workplace are fundamental in allowing people of all backgrounds to explore and develop their talents, in an environment where they feel they belong. Cam’s Coffee Creations goes above and beyond to fulfill that mission. Located in Winston-Salem, Cam’s Coffee was founded in 2017 by then-9-year-old, Camden Myers, who experiences cognitive and physical challenges as a result of a Traumatic Brain Injury he suffered as an infant. Myers and his family established Cam’s Coffee to help others with disabilities. Cam’s Coffee has since made history as the first organization in the Triad will provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Many high school students with disabilities in the Triad have successfully found employment with Cam’s Coffee.
The organization is especially committed to teaching employees independence and how to prepare for their futures. Staff members, specifically high school students, are taught the value of furthering their education, transitioning into the workplace, and navigating life professionally. The Cam’s Coffee team also cares for employees further by ensuring they have the appropriate attire and adequate transportation to work. Residents in the Triad know Cam’s Coffee as a family-friendly atmosphere. The walls of the franchise are decorated with large-sized photos of Camden Myers receiving awards, the team when the business first opened, and how the team has progressed. From corner to corner, there is also cloud blue, bolt yellow,blackish gray, and red merchandise, which adds extra creativity to the environment.
In addition to various coffee flavors, customers can sit down and toast to a refreshing smoothie, sweet tea, or ocean water beverage. They can also treat their sweet tooth to the famous, chocolatey, Cam’s Cookie Craze, which is an especially popular dessert among children! With its friendly, inclusive atmosphere and delicious pastries and beverages, Cam’s Coffee welcomes all Triad residents with a warm smile and a chance to succeed!
