“We all have different needs,” Forte said. “It’s not about a budget because 10 people can come to me [with the same budget] but they will all have different needs.”

Forte fell into the event planning industry when a friend asked her to plan a wedding. Although she never considered this new venture, she jumped right in using her innate crafting skills and creativity.

“I took some of their ideas, some of my ideas, and I put them together and people still talk about their wedding to this day,” Forte said. 

From then, a spark was ignited and Forte soon planned her own wedding in 2016. She continued to build her portfolio and assist other wedding planners before she officially founded Core Creations LLC in 2018 in Greensboro to serve people of all different backgrounds, preferences, ideas, and locations. Core Creations LLC can also travel and execute destination weddings and events. 

Forte has been full-time in business for two years and attributes her growth and success to God and clients who were willing to trust her in her early stages. 

“I’ve surrounded myself with people who could mentor me but most importantly, I’m prayerful. I [ask God to] put passion in my heart and my spirit,” she said. 

Diving into the industry also empowered Forte to find her unique approach to business with her creativity and ability to create efficient systems to guide her clients and vendors so the event takes place without a hitch. This harnesses the power of word-of-mouth which has been an effective marketing strategy for the company.
